Welcome

Hello, I've never done this before. I'm a bit nervous but have a burning desire to share my life with tinnitus.  My hope is that by sharing my own personal experience I can help others who are on this same journey to find peace,  serenity and a way of coping with this  extremely misunderstood condition.

This is a short video that I made with the help of The American Tinnitus Association.

I hope you find it encouraging. You are not alone. Together, with the A.T.A., we are committed to ongoing research in finding a cure.

Please join me as I continuously gather information or just share my story. I would like to invite you to share your own experiences here.

Thank you. I look forward to our path of HOPE!

  3. Thank you Denise so much for your help and support. It just helps to hear someone else talk of the hope they feel and the understanding. Most people do not understand in my family or my friends. How could they right? You are lucky to have the many people around you that do understand. On top of the ringing every day for 5 years, I have had intractable, severe pain in my ear and facial region too. It came with the ringing after a salivary gland surgery. Please pray for me as I will pray for you too. You are soooooo lucky to live by the ocean as that is where I will end up. I visited there 2 years ago, Christmas and it was wonderful the calm it gave me and the sanity and serenity too. Thank you again. Please keep blogging, ok?

  5. Thank you, Denise, for sharing your story to help so many others. Having to learn to live with tinnitus, after having had a quiet brain for a lifetime, can be devastating. I first suffered from tinnitus following sudden and severe hearing loss in one ear. I subsequently learned that I had an untreated case of Lyme disease, that I believe is related to my condition. Like you, I have tried many things to quiet my head, such as yoga, acupuncture, cranio-sacral therapy, and dietary changes. I take solace in soft music, sounds of the ocean and nature. I pray for a cure and will continue to read your blog. Thank you for everything you are doing to help others!

  6. Deb M,

I am so grateful that you shared your experience. I think that in itself is so therapy for our minds and souls so have some solitude from this awful noise. Since I have returned from Italy, it has gotten worse. I do believe lyme disease can affect the tinnitus. My daughter suffers from lyme. She has a touch of tinnitus, hopefully, it stays that way. I will continue to research and post any news available to me.
